In collaboration with the Town Theatre Giuseppe Verdi of Pordenone,
The Wandering Harlequin 2017 opens its exhibitions’ program in Pordenone with a night of excellence in the circle of international research theatres. The last production by the Pocket Theatre of Bergamo, represents and distills a more than forty-years old story not only about the company itself, but about an entire movement: the one of the Laboratory Theatre, started by Grotowski and still very much alive all over the world.

Essential and effective the spoken text; a symphony of images figuratively luxurious and of actions in rime and rhythm, as in a new and peculiar theatre-dance; live songs and music; dramaturgy not strictly narrative, built through attractions and rejections of symbols and energies … And, inside, the universal story of confrontation between a Man and his Time: and the man is all of us with our loneliness, and the Time is the roar of the Present shared and declared… The ritual is staged by a group of skeleton-monks, as in the medieval Danse Macabre in the parades of the joyous mexican Calacas. They remind us, playing as naughty urchins, that the true Time is the one we have left and its end might be a “merry” passage… A beautiful show, necessary and liberating…

Unveiled behind the scenes… A look on humane and professional dynamics in the every-day working life of a group of actors during a particularly demanding task, at an important Festival (the Festuge of the Odin Teatret of Eugenio Barba, in Summer 2012 Denmark). The group lets the audience observe with delicacy and without any censure its own thoughts and instincts, tensions and tenderness, strengths and tiredness, ideals and confrontation with reality… And the capability of creating future, through the cure of ones own knowledge.
