Agenda. 5 Oct. L'Arlecchino Errante

In the year dedicated to the theme “Truer than Truth”, one of the strengths of the pedagogic offer of “ L'Arlecchino Errante Masterclass is an introduction to the Michael Checkov method.

Mikail Tchekov, who personally changed the spelling of his Last Name when he obtained the American citizenship, lived between 1891 and 1955 and was a brilliant and gifted actor; he was also a great director, and then dedicated the rest of life to pedagogy. He has passed on his art to different generations of actor such as Anthony Hopkins, Marylin Monroe, Clint Eastwood or Jack Nicholson.
Grandson of Anton Tcheckov the playwright, he attended Costantin Stanislavski’s lectures, who considered Mikail his most talented student. His reciting, incredibly alive and rich in imagination, exercised a great fascination on the audience.
After his exile from Russia, Tcheckov lived long in Europe before finally moving to the United States, where he continued to develop his artistic and pedagogic research. His Method gave origin to different “Centres” or “Studies”, operative all over the world, that carry his name.
Very simple, rapid and effective, his technique is based on the evaluation of the presence, on receptiveness and on the consciousness of the body. He intends to reach an acting level that has something magnetic, a strong energetic force, and to range over different genres, from tragedy to comedy, from epic to realism.
Among the many centre across the world, “The Wandering Harlequin” has chosen to rely on the Michael Chekov Study of Brussel, and more precisely to Master Natalie Yalon, for many good reasons: Brussel represents objectively the heart of Europe, even from the cultural point of view; Natalie Yalon has a solid education also in History of contemporary Russian theatrical art; and finally, she speaks Italian perfectly.
A guarantee of modernity and incisiveness for a very valuable masterclass, called "The Art of transformation" and it’s scheduled from 8th to 11th October with intensive time table.
Energy, joy, lightness, psychic and emotional mobility, body language and imagination of body language, internal and external physical action are a few of the concepts that are the background of Natalie Yalon’s exercises.
Her Masterclass is called “The Art of Transformation” and this title hints to the thin but unequivocal relation between the actor, the character and the universal humankind established by the Michael Chekhov’s method.
